Welcome back to my rambling mind. This blog is going to be all about the five items I could not live without for the kids. I have no affiliation with any of these brands, it is purely how much I love them and how much it has made my mum life easier!
Sleep sacks/ sleeping suit -
These are a must have. If you are hopeless at wrapping your baby in the adorable muslin wraps like I am.. sleep sacks are the best! Not only does it make midnight changes a breeze but you can also get ones to help transition out of full swaddling. My personal favourites are from Lovetodream and Ergopouch. You can get these at baby bunting that I am aware of. To be honest once I purchased one I had to go back for more just to be safe from leaking nappies. I cant survive without them now! Sorry to all my mum friends for the spoiler.. as this is what you will get as a baby present!
A baby carrier -
I am a massive fan of baby wearing. The style of carrier used I don't mind. Personally I have two favourites which i swap between. The first is from Babydinkwear and the second is a Chekoh wrap. Being able to strap Bailey in and get the shopping done hands free is priceless. When you have a toddler who requires both hands these wraps are the best. It also keeps Bailey close to me and away from the touch of overly friendly strangers.
A nappy backpack -
When I first had Xavier i purchased a nappy bag that just left me overwhelmed! It was essentially just a giant handbag, that included the feature of black hole..
For me the most important feature of a nappy bag is quick access to a lot of storage. I like to have everything organised, especially now I have things for two different kids. Late last year I found BubbaBump on Instagram, they sell adorable nappy backpacks that are an affordable price. I had to have one and honestly I will never use anything else now. I take my backpack with me everywhere and it fits everything I could possibly need to leave the house with my 18 month old and 6 week old. My personal favorite feature though is the in built wet bag which gives me a place to store Xavier's wet and dirty bibs without trashing other items in the bag.
The Gro Company - Gro Egg 2
Every nursery needs a temperature gauge. There is nothing worse then waking up to a baby who is too hot or too cold. The Gro Egg lets me know exactly what temperature it is and if it is safe to have my little ones sleep in that room. The kids rooms can get up to 40 degrees some days. The egg on those days is bright red letting me know its a complete nope. Once the room is cooled to a reasonable temperature the egg changes colour letting me know it is now safe. This to some will seem like its not a big deal and that I should be able to tell just by being in the room. However this egg is a life saver for sleep deprived me. I also love that it doubles as a night light. It lets just enough light from its glow that I can check on babe without turning on the big light. This brand is available also at Baby Bunting. Next on my list from them is the Gro Clock! I cant wait to teach Xavier when it is appropriate to get out of bed in the morning now that he is in his big boy bed!
Oricom baby monitor - I think this one is completely self-explanatory. Now that I have both babies home all day on my own, it is so much easier to have the monitor. It allows me to watch Xavier having quiet time in his room whilst I am downstairs with Bailey. The monitor I have also has a setting which lets me talk to Xavier.. so I can tell him to hop back into bed when he tries to escape!
So there you have it. The five items that keep me completely sane through my mum life haze.
Until next time good friends,
x
